Two Children and Mother Hit by Car in Peabody, MA – Pedestrian Accident

PEABODY, Massachusetts. (WHDH) Two children pedestrians and their mother were hit by a car while crossing the street in Peabody, according to the Peabody Fire Department.

The call was received shortly after 3:00 p.m. and firefighters, police and emergency medical services responded.

Both pedestrians were transported to Mass. For serious injuries, the children were taken to General Hospital via Ambulance.

Ovidia Lopez Esteban, of Lynn was identified as the driver according to WHDH. Ovidia Lopez-Esteban was taken into custody for operating a motor car with a suspended license.

The Lynn Street street sign was damaged and knocked down in the crash. It appeared that the silver SUV in the accident had climbed onto the sidewalk.

Peter Zorzonello heard about the accident and jumped in to help. He called 9-1-1.

Zorzonello stated, ““When it first happened, I heard [the mother] screaming and yelling,” according to WHDH

Zorzonello said that it is not the first accident he has witnessed at a dangerous intersection.
